Day 1: Marrakech – atlas mountains – kasbah ait Benhaddou – ouarzazate - dades valley

We at Morocco Holiday Planner - trusted Morocco travel company organising budget travel from Marrakech. Thank you for choosing our Marrakech budget Sahara desert tour. We will meet you at your accommodation in Marrakech and drive to Ouarzazate through the dramatic Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260m), over the High Atlas Mountains, appreciating the beauty of the landscape on the twisted roads through the Berber villages where you will have the opportunity to explore how the argan oil is made by Berber women in their cooperative. Arriving at the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, now it is a UNESCO matrimonial historical site and a house of many Glaoui family members, we’ll have lunch at the Kasbah before continuing to Dadès Gorges via Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”, along the “Road of the thousand Kasbahs”- the fascinating “sand castles”. Stopping at Kalaat M'Gouna, “the rose’s city” known for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May, then we’ll continue to our accommodation in the heart of the Dadès Gorges. Overnight in our guest house/riad (dinner and breakfast).

Day 2: dades valley - todgha gorge - erfoud - rissani – merzouga sahara desert

After breakfast , we’ll drive back through the valley to see the amazing rock formation known as “the monkey toes” and the still-standing 19th century Kasbah of Ait Yul. Leaving the Dades Valley towards Tinghir and the Todgha Valley you’ll see panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Arriving at the Gorge is an opportunity to walk under the 300 m high red cliff, where many rock-climbers. Continuing on to Erfoud and Rissani where we’ll have lunch before heading on to the village of Merzouga where your camel will be waiting you. You will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea and a turban (desert scarf) before you ride your camel, guided by an experienced Camel Guide, to explore within the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg Chebbi. Here you’ll spend your first night under the stars, or if you prefer, in a traditional Berber nomad tent.

Day 3: merzouga - midelt - Fes

Today our 3 Days Budget Marrakech desert tour to Fes continues and we wake up early morning to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes, possibly the best moment of Merzouga desert, followed by a typical breakfast in the bivouac of Merzouga, you will ride your camel back to the hotel where you have shower after shower you meet the driver and travel from Merzouga dunes to Fes via the beautiful Ziz valley, Errachida and Midelt.

Lunch on the way and short break to watch the monkeys in cedar forests of the middle Atlas close to Azrou , arriving to Fes. Drop off in Fes. End of the trip.
